Man dies after falling from Anderson building in San Luis Obispo
Police have not determined if the fall was accidental or criminal in nature
–A 72-year-old man has been pronounced dead after falling from the Anderson Apartment building in San Luis Obispo Friday afternoon.
On Friday at approximately 1 p.m., the San Luis Obispo Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a male laying on a lower level roof of the Anderson Apartments. The 911 caller reported the male appeared injured and was not moving. Both police and fire departments were dispatched to the location to render aid. Responding officers arrived and located a male victim with significant trauma who was still alive. Life saving measures were initiated and turned over to the fire department. The fire department evacuated the victim from the first floor roof down to a waiting San Luis Ambulance. He was transported to Sierra Vista emergency room where he was pronounced deceased due to significant injuries from the fall.
The police department is actively investigating the nature of the fall. At this time, they have not determined if the fall was accidental or criminal in nature.
The name of the victim is not being released until family members can be notified.
