Teen who died after surfing accident is identified

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office Coroner is identifying the man who died in a surfing accident on Friday in the waters off Moonstone Beach in Cambria. He is identified as 19-year-old Liam Alexander Taylor of Cambria.

The 19-year-old had been surfing with some friends in the waters off Moonstone Beach when he suffered a surfing accident. He was transported to a local hospital where he died at approximately 8:15 PM.

An autopsy will be performed this week to determine the manner and cause of death. No further information is available at this time.

Man dies after surfing accident

–On Thursday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff‘s Deputies responded to a call from State Park Rangers regarding a surfer who was injured on Moonstone Beach in Cambria. The 19-year-old had been surfing with some friends in the waters off Moonstone Beach when he suffered a surfing accident. When Deputies arrived on scene, CPR was in progress. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died at approximately 8:15 p.m. Coroner Detectives are investigating.

No foul play is suspected. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the manner and cause of death. The identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
