Update: Man sentenced to 40-years to life for murder 

–Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Duffy has sentenced Ignacio Palomar III to serve 40 years to life in state prison for the 2014 murder of an Arroyo Grande man.

“This prosecution and sentence will serve as a sobering reminder of the devastation that can occur when anger outweighs self-restraint,” said district attorney Dan Dow. “We hope that it provides friends and family of the victim with some level of closure and Justice.”

–Ignacio Franco Palomar III was found guilty of murder today, after he hit his victim outside an Arroyo Grande Bar in 2014.

A jury found Ignacio Franco Palomar III guilty of the second-degree murder of a Grover Beach man stemming from an assault on October 2, 2014. Palomar struck the victim inflicting an injury that ultimately resulted in the victim’s death.

A trial on two alleged prior serious felonies, pursuant to California Three Strikes Law, will be heard tomorrow in Department 1 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, the Honorable Judge Jacqueline Duffy presiding.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Charles Blair and investigated by the Arroyo Grande Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff-Coroner.
