Man injured in Highway 101 tractor-trailer accident

Northbound Highway 101 just south of the southern Spring Street exit in Paso Robles was closed briefly Friday afternoon following a tractor-trailer accident.

One man was injured in the accident and taken by ambulance from the scene to a local hospital.

At about 4:25 p.m. the driver of a tractor-trailer was unable to stop as traffic backed up on the freeway. The tractor-trailer rear-ended a Silver Honda CRV, which then rear-ended a Black GMC Yukon. Then the Honda CRV side-swiped a Toyota Corolla, before coming to a stop.

The tractor-trailer was loaded with concrete blocks and cement for LA Hearne Co. of King City, Calif.

Traffic was delayed in both directions for more than an hour. California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, and San Luis Obispo City fire truck were on scene.
