    Rainy weather cause of delays

Construction of the new Marriott Residence Inn, located on South Vine Street and Highway 46 West, has resumed after being delayed this past winter. Work started up in the spring after leaks in the roof due to the winter rainy weather caused the pause.

“This project was approved by the city ten years ago and will be an additional generator of transient occupancy taxes.,” said Paso Robles City Director of Community Development Warren Frace. “Overall, transient occupancy taxes support about 30% of the city budget for services to residents of Paso Robles.”

The Marriott Residence Inn will be a four-story building with 128 rooms for guests looking for a longer stay; it will offer studios and one to two-bedroom rooms. It will sit on a 3.17-acre lot; over 140 parking spaces will be available.

It was approved by the Paso Robles Planning Commission in 2014 via Resolution 14-077 and broke ground in 2023.

The expected opening date is now 2025. It will join other new hotels in Paso Robles, such as the River Lodge Hotel, which opened on Theatre Drive after renovations earlier this year, and Hotel Ava, with an estimated opening date in 2025 on Pine Street.
