Mayor’s update for Easter weekend

Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin.

From the Blog of Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin

–This holiday weekend we all want to be with family and friends. Maybe even have an Easter Egg hunt. The COVID-19 virus is going to make this year different. Here are a couple of ways to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt safely.

First, the Downtown Main Street Association is offering a virtual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11th at 2 p.m. Participate online at this Facebook site. The Easter Bunny will be there and after the virtual egg hunt he will deliver the eggs right to your door in Paso Robles. Thank you Main Street and SLO Sweets for making this possible.

Or, there’s a different kind of virtual Easter Egg Hunt you can enjoy. Make two or three foot Easter Eggs and display them in front of your home. Egg hunters can drive around and take photos of the eggs, track how many they have found and turn in their results by April 12th at 5 p.m. for a chance to win a prize. The Paso Robles Police Department is participating in this event. Be sure and thank them for their work during this pandemic. Check Facebook: Virtual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt for more information.

How ever you celebrate, please don’t host or attend gatherings, or overwhelm public spaces.

We need your input!
We all have stories about our how lives have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus. I’d like to hear yours. We’ve posted two surveys at prcity.com. One is a resident survey. The other is a business survey. Each takes about five minutes to complete and they are totally anonymous. Businesses can provide contact information if they wish. The surveys are in English and Spanish. Knowing the effects of the virus on our residents and businesses will help us secure resources to help us all.

COVID-19 has impacted us all. Together, we can get the help we need to get back to normal. Please fill out one or both of the surveys at prcity.com.

Remember to wash your hands, keep your distance and report illness to your doctor. This is Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin, thanking you for your help and reminding you to stay informed, stay involved and stay strong Paso Robles.
