Members of law enforcement endorse Parkinson for re-election

Ian Parkinson

Sheriff Ian Parkinson

– Sheriff Ian Parkinson has secured the official endorsement from the Sworn Deputy Sheriff’s Association (SDSA) as well as dozens of law enforcement officials throughout San Luis Obispo County and the state of California.

In a letter dated March 23, 2018, the SDSA announced in a letter that they “offer our support and give our endorsement for your re-election to the Office of Sheriff.” As explained in the letter, the SDSA “is made up of individuals who are Deputy Sheriffs, Senior Deputy Sheriffs and Sergeants, as the peace officers who protect and serve our community of San Luis Obispo County.”

In addition to the SDSA endorsement, Parkinson has received individual endorsements from 14 active and retired police chiefs throughout the Central Coast, and 33 active and retired sheriffs across the state. Parkinson also has been endorsed by the Criminal Justice Administrators’ Association, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County District Attorneys, and several retired law enforcement leaders in the county.

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of the SDSA and multiple individuals in law enforcement that I respect and admire,” Parkinson said. “I appreciate their acknowledgment of the accomplishments I’ve made in the past seven years and confidence in my vision for the future.”
