Klender Cellars, a boutique, family-run winery on the east side of Paso Robles, CC was awarded a Gold Medal for its 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve, at the prestigious 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

Their 2013 Estate Cabernet was also an award winning red blend at this competition, as well as the California Mid-State Fair in 2018. “After ten years of hard work, it’s a little dream come true for us,” say owners Richard & Lisa Klender.

The Klenders developed a small plot of land along Paso’s 46-East highway where they planted and handcraft their own cabernet sauvignon, merlot & cabernet franc, into a meritage/elordeaux style blend. After putting in the vineyard, Richard Mender spent years building a barn next to the vineyard which doubles as a private tasting room and recording studio.

A successful veteran of the music industry, Klender is still writing songs and producing music. His newest music project is a collodion of songs about his passion for wine and life on his vineyard. His upcoming Americana / Rock release, “Life is a Cabernet,” will be available on YouTube and iTunes.
