Mid-State Fair adds nonprofit expos to special days
– The California Mid-State Fair will offer discounted or free admission on three special days during this year’s fair and host free nonprofit expos featuring organizations that serve older adults, children and families, active-duty military members, and veterans.
The nonprofit expos will take place from noon to 4 p.m. in Mulbeary Park, just inside the fair’s Main Gate. Admission to the expos is included with fair admission.
On Seniors Day, July 17, guests can connect with representatives from the California Secretary of State, El Camino Homeless Organization, San Luis Obispo County Parks, San Luis Obispo County Veterans Services, San Luis Obispo Vet Center, and Special Olympics Southern California. Guests ages 62 and older will receive half-price single-day senior admission.
On Kids Day, July 24, families can participate in hands-on activities, educational experiences, and giveaways while learning about organizations serving children and families in San Luis Obispo County. Participating organizations include Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, Paso Robles Children’s Museum, Paso Robles Youth Arts Center, San Luis Obispo County Parks, Special Olympics Southern California, Tolosa Children’s Dental Center, and Woods Humane Society. Children ages 12 and younger will receive free fair admission on Kids Day.
On Armed Forces Day, July 25, the nonprofit expo will connect active-duty military members, veterans, and their families with organizations offering programs and services. Participating organizations include the California Army National Guard J9 Military & Family Readiness Program, Honor Flight Central Coast California, San Luis Obispo County Veterans Services, San Luis Obispo Vet Center, and the U.S. Army Gold Coast Recruiting Company. Guests with a valid active-duty or retired military identification card will receive free fair admission.
The California Mid-State Fair runs July 15-26. This year’s theme is “Back to the ’80s!”
