Midnight Cellars to host 46 West Block Party July 6

–Midnight Cellars Winery will host the 46 West Wineries Summer Block Party on Saturday, July 6 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The annual Summer Block Party is a wine tasting event featuring wineries of the Paso Robles 46 West Wineries trail in a casual “mini wine festival” atmosphere with live music from the Zongo All-Stars to dance the night away to. The event is being catered by award-winning Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ. Wine tasting, dancing, and barbecue is $55 per person. Tickets can be purchased at www.46west.wine.

Attendees have the chance to meet the winemakers, taste wines from 18 different wineries, and eat great food from Chef Jeff of Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ, all while swaying along to live music from Zongo All Stars.

“We wanted to draw people to the west side because the east side was so popular,” says Jim Jacobsen, owner of Doce Robles and the first unofficial president of the group. “We also wanted to have fun, drink wine, eat food and dance!” Jacobsen continued.

The 46 West Wineries was established in 2003 by Peachy Canyon Winery, Dark Star Cellars, and several other winery owners off Highway 46 West, including Midnight Cellars and Doce Robles. Each year a different winery hosts the event on their property. The Summer Block party on July 6 will be hosted by Midnight Cellars Winery, the 29th established winery in Paso Robles. The owner, Richard Hartenberger, and family are originally from Chicago, so a Chicago themed menu will be featured in homage of the Hartenberger family that established the winery. This event sells out, attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets today at www.46West.wine.
