    Mike Dawson Joins Solterra Strategies as Media Strategist

    Dawson is a former national magazine editor and award-winning news reporter

    Solterra Strategies, a public relations and marketing firm for the wine and tourism industries, is proud to announce Mike Dawson has joined the Solterra team as media strategist, effective immediately.

    Dawson comes to Solterra with a wealth of media expertise working with national magazines and on the agency side. Most recently he was with Parker Sanpei Public Relations in San Luis Obipso, where he developed and executed successful national brand communications campaigns for clients including Wine Wipes, Parrish Family Vineyards and the Granada Hotel and Bistro.

    “Mike is a talented wordsmith and specializes in strengthening brand narratives and executing successful and measurable communication campaigns across all platforms,” said Stacie Jacob, founder and chief strategist of Solterra. “He brings a wealth of both media experience and wine knowledge and will further bolster our 360-degree approach to the communications and marketing solutions we provide our clients.”

    Dawson is a former editor of “Wine Enthusiast,” “Maxim,” and “Men’s Health Magazine.” Before magazines, he was an award-winning newspaper reporter where he covered a wide-range of subjects from politics to the Iraqi War. His writing has appeared in magazines and journals including  “The SOMM Journal,” “GQ” and “Italia!”

    A graduate of Indiana University, Dawson holds a WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) certificate and was a harvest intern for the award-winning Anthony Nappa Wines during vintage 2014.

    Solterra Strategies, a lifestyle marketing firm based in Paso Robles, was founded in 2011 by industry veteran Stacie Jacob. The company provides strategic business and organizational change management consulting, brand development; public relations, marketing, social media and website strategy; its clients demonstrate a unique sense of place relating to food, wine, agriculture, tourism, lifestyle and hospitality.
