Mission Prep girls basketball starts the season with 6-0 record

–The Mission Prep girls basketball team start the new season with a perfect 6-0 record. The Royals won a tournament in Carmel over the weekend by margins of victory between 30 and 50 points.

Starting for the Royals, a freshman from Heritage Ranch, Olivia Missler. Missler played well in the Carmel tournament, hitting three’s and playing strong defense.

The Royals play next week at the Tournament of Champions in Santa Barbara. In the first round, they play Foothill Tech of Ventura. That game to be played at Bishop Diego next Wednesday afternoon. Teams from San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande and Nipomo are also playing in the Santa Barbara tournament.

The Royals are coached by 27-year-old Andrew Richardson, who played at Mission Prep ten years ago. In his first year as a head coach two yeas ago, Richardson took the Royals deep into the CIF Playoffs.
