Motorcycle event coming to Paso Robles

All-day event focused on family entertainment

–Thousands of motorcyclists and spectators will flock to Paso Robles Fairgrounds Saturday, Sept. 9 for the first ever Mid-State Moto Mania. The all-day event, featuring professional and amateur motorcycle racing, vintage motorcycle show and nighttime entertainment was created for families and enthusiasts alike. Gates open to spectators at noon and racing is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

“Moto Mania is a day of fun, centered around motorcycles, to honor a fellow motorcycle rider, Joey Brown, who was a part of the Paso Robles community,” said event organizer Brett Butterfield. “Cyclists from as far away as three hours will travel here to connect with other racers and to participate in this exciting event.”

Short Track Racing begins at 3:00 PM with races in Open Pro, Open Vintage, Open Sportsman and Class C categories; 40 races in all. Spectators can expect to see competitive, bar banging, sideways bike racing in the Open Pro competition, with the winner receiving $2,000. Traction scrambles in all classes mix up traditional motorcycle racing with fun and competition.

Guests to the event can see hundreds of motorcycles up close at the vintage motorcycle show accompanying the day of racing. The show will feature classic flat trackers, race bikes, Japanese and Euro vintage bikes, custom built street bikes and dirt bikes. After the racing, all are welcome to join in the celebration with a live band and food at the Island Bar and nearby overnight camping.
