Motorcycle rider injured in Spring Street collision

On Monday at 2:32 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the intersection of Spring Street and 7th Street for a report of an injury traffic collision. Officers arrived on scene and located a passenger car and a motorcycle in the intersection. The driver of the motorcycle had been ejected as a result of the collision and was located in the intersection suffering from visible injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center by San Luis Obispo Ambulance to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the passenger car was uninjured.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle driver was traveling northbound on Spring Street. The driver of the passenger car was making a left-hand turn from westbound 7th Street onto southbound Spring Street. The driver of the passenger car did not see the northbound motorcycle and entered the intersection colliding with the motorcycle. The motorcycle sustained major damage and the passenger car sustained moderate damage.

The Paso Robles Police Department closed Spring Street between 6th Street and 8th Street during the collision investigation. The roadway was reopened at 3:30 p.m. The Paso Robles Police Department was assisted by the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services. This investigation is ongoing.
