–If you enjoy gardening yourself and touring to get ideas and inspiration, a special garden tour sponsored by the Multiflora Garden Club is coming up on April 22 in the Paso Robles area. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the tour includes six residential gardens created by club members and one school garden. The club’s first tour also features a Garden Boutique plant sale with unusual garden items. Tickets are limited; $20 available at Farm Supply in Paso Robles and Bay Laurel Garden Center in Atascadero. Proceeds benefit the Multiflora Garden Club’s scholarship program.

How does your garden grow?

A common definition of a garden is “a piece of ground for the cultivation of flowers, vegetables, plants, shrubs, and trees.” As any gardener knows, a garden is much more than that. Horticulture takes place inside and out, in raised beds, and containers, on trellises and on top of buildings and in water. Whatever the situation, gardeners will always find a place to garden.

Whether you have an established garden or are just starting out, there comes a time when you want to know more and share your knowledge with other gardeners. A great place to do this is at the Multiflora Garden Club. As a group of passionate gardeners, learning is a priority so there are monthly educational programs with knowledgeable speakers.

Activities include garden tours, nursery visits and bus trips to the San Francisco Flower and Garden show. Additionally, there are more than 20 activity groups that range from plant propagation, school gardens to flower design. Their community service includes fundraising for and awarding local scholarships.

The Multiflora Garden Club meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday (except June, July and August) at the Paso Robles Community Church at 2706 Spring Street. For complete information visit www.multifloragardenclub.org.
