Update: Murder-suicide reported in Atascadero

Update posted Feb. 16

–The Atascadero couple found dead Saturday afternoon have been identified as Kenneth and Doris Casad, both 87, according to reports.

The Casad’s adult son, who was visiting, left for a short time and reportedly found their bodies when he arrived back at the home. It appears both the Casads had ongoing medical issues, especially Doris, which may have led to the murder suicide. It appears Kenneth shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, reports say.

The investigation into the incident is complete, and there are no outstanding suspects, reports say.
