Naming recognition ceremony to be held for Dr. Gilbert H. Stork Gym

Cuesta gym
–A naming dedication ceremony for the Dr. Gilbert H. Stork Gymnasium at Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo campus will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 6:45 p.m. in between the men’s and women’s basketball games. The Cuesta Cougars will play against local rival Allan Hancock College in a Western State Conference matchup. Following the men’s basketball game at 5 p.m., there will be light refreshments available in the gym lobby at 6:15 p.m. before the official program begins at 6:45 p.m. The women’s basketball game starts at 7 p.m.

In July of 2018, the Cuesta College Board of Trustees approved the naming of the Gymnasium (Building 1400) as the Dr. Gilbert H. Stork Gymnasium to honor the fifty-plus year legacy of Dr. Gilbert H. Stork upon his retirement as Superintendent/President of Cuesta College. The naming recognizes the depth and breadth of Dr. Stork’s work and his unique contributions to support student success, which began in the athletic department.
