Nashville’s Chi McClean returns to Paso Robles
Nashville’s Chi McClean returns July 14
The Songwriters At Play Showcase is featuring Chi McClean July 14 from 1-4 p.m. at Sculpterra Winery.
Chi is a Central Coast favorite, who turns heads with his flashy guitar work and soulful vocals. He writes acoustic rock songs marked by a haunting Southern style. Many of his songs take a straightforward look at love, loss, and in the end, opportunity.
Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, The Black Crowes, Free, The Faces and The Allman Brothers, Chi’s music borrows from the classic tones and song structures that formed the pillars of the 1960’s rock scene while presenting listeners with a contemporary and wholly unique perspective.
July 14 also includes David T. Carter of the Bay Area band Trailer Park Rangers, and local favorites Rob Kimball, Dylan Nicholson, and Cynthia Hathaway.
Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon, 1–4 p.m. at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, (805) 226-8881. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing 4-song sets. We pass the tip jar during the featured set, otherwise no cover. All ages are welcome — great place for a family picnic.
