Less than 2 percent of California specialists hold certification

    – Peter Lucier of Hearing Aid Specialists of the Central Coast has been awarded the board certification in hearing instrument sciences designation by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences.

The certification, known as BC-HIS, is a credential recognizing achievement in hearing healthcare. In California, there are more than 4,600 hearing aid specialists, but less than 2 percent are nationally board certified, according to the organization.

Lucier has owned a practice in San Luis Obispo County for 25 years and operates offices in Atascadero and San Luis Obispo.

The National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences is an independent nonprofit credentialing organization. It was established to promote continuing competency assurance for hearing healthcare professionals and to provide a standard of excellence for consumers.

For more information about Lucier’s practice, call (805) 460-7385 or visit https://slocountyhearingaids.com.
