Class offers local dancers the opportunity to ‘dance the night away’

–Beginning Friday, Jan. 6, local dancers will have a new venue to practice their ballroom, swing, line dance, mixers and many other styles of dance during the Paso Robles Dance Hall class. This brand new opportunity is being offered in partnership with the Paso Robles Community Services Department and will happen every Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Centennial Park Banquet Room located at 600 Nickerson Drive.

“Dancing is an excellent way to improve your moves, socialize, and get some exercise,” says Dance Hall instructor Tina Scarsella who has been dancing since she was a teenager. “My vision is to provide an opportunity and a place for those who love to dance to get together on Friday night and enjoy the fun of a traditional dance hall experience while helping to build a strong and healthy community.”

During the dance hall experience, participants will enjoy the use of the Centennial Park banquet room’s large wood dance floor. Assistance will be offered including dance floor etiquette and protocols including line of dance, where to dance on the floor for various dance styles and abilities and the social aspect of ballroom and line dancing. A DJ will play a variety of music to accommodate many style of dance and music requests will be welcome.

The Dance Hall fee is $95 for a 10 punch pass and is open to individuals 18 years or older. The first class is free, and Tina Scarsella encourages all who are interested in this type of dance experience to come and join the fun.

Registration for the dance hall can be accomplished by visiting the Paso Robles Recreation Services registration office at 600 Nickerson Drive in Paso Robles between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
