Open house reception to be held on Saturday, April 4
– Salty Pages, a new independent bookstore, has opened at 2024 Main Street in Cambria’s Garden Shed Shops.
Founder and Cambria resident Julie Saunders will host an open house reception on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store carries contemporary fiction, speculative and literary titles, emerging voices, journals, stationery, artisan jewelry, and literary-themed gifts.
Saunders, a Latina entrepreneur, envisions the bookstore as a place where stories from many voices and perspectives will be discovered and shared.
“I created Salty Pages to be a welcoming space for both locals and visitors to browse, slow down, and reconnect with the joy of books,” said Saunders. “I set out to create an independent coastal bookstore that feels personal, warm, and rooted in the community where people can connect — with stories and with each other.”
Saunders drew inspiration from Cambria’s creative spirit when designing the shop. Future plans include book clubs, author events, and collaborations with local authors.
Of the store’s name, Saunders said, “The name Salty Pages reflects the shop’s coastal setting and the idea that stories, like the ocean, are meant to be explored. My hope is that Salty Pages feels like a little discovery along the coast, where you can wander in, find something unexpected, and leave feeling inspired.”
Salty Pages is open Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Tuesdays. For updates and event announcements, follow the store on Instagram at @saltypagescambria.
