New jazz festival to debut in April

Paso Robles Jazz Fest will debut April 24–26 in Paso Robles wine country, with performances scheduled at a local venue and at Sensorio, according to organizers.

The three-day festival will feature limited-seating performances on Friday and Saturday at Libretto Paso Robles and will conclude Sunday night at Sensorio with solo piano performances. VIP ticket holders will also receive access to a bonus performance on April 23. Tickets went on sale Feb. 13 at pasoroblesjazzfest.com.

The festival opens April 23 with a VIP performance by Grammy-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner at the Paso Robles venue. Organizers said the first 50 purchasers of the three-day pass will receive VIP access to the show.

Friday and Saturday will feature a rotating lineup of eight jazz musicians, with four performers each day.

The festival concludes April 26 at Sensorio with solo piano performances by Gerald Clayton, Taylor Eigsti, and Elysia Biro. Guests will also have access to wine experiences featuring Paso Robles producers and opportunities to interact with artists. Attendance is limited, according to organizers.

“Paso Robles Jazz Fest is about honoring artistry without excess,” said Corey Jordan, Libretto co-owner and festival founder. “We’re creating a space where extraordinary musicians can be heard the way they’re meant to be heard, up close and fully present, with the setting playing an imperative role in the experience. This festival comes from a simple belief that jazz, wine, and community naturally belong together in Paso Robles wine country, and that when you bring people together around great music, something meaningful happens.”

Organizers said the festival builds on the reputation of the Paso Robles venue and a Los Angeles location that opened in December. The Los Angeles venue presents one performance per month in an intimate setting.

Libretto is a membership-based wine and jazz club in Paso Robles that hosts performances Thursday through Saturday. Members of the public may purchase a one-day membership to attend performances, according to organizers.
