Rockbound Cellars highlights sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking
– Rockbound Cellars, a boutique family-owned estate winery in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles, has opened a new tasting room at the Bottle Shop in the Railroad Historic District. This location brings the vineyard experience to the heart of the city, offering both locals and visitors an opportunity to enjoy the winery’s estate-grown Bordeaux and Rhône varietals.
Founded by Fiorella (Fio) and Colby DeRodeff, Rockbound Cellars is known for embracing the influence of terroir and specializing in small-batch winemaking. The winery focuses on sustainable farming practices and minimal intervention techniques to create wines that reflect their passion and dedication.
The tasting room is located inside the Bottle Shop on Railroad Street, a building that will house other wineries, two restaurants, and a microbrewery within the coming year.
Visitors can choose from guided tastings or enjoy wine by the glass or bottle. Featured wines include the Allpa Bordeaux-Style Blend, a complex mix of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, and cabernet franc; the Correlated GSM, a blend of grenache, mourvèdre, syrah, and cinsault; R.A.W. Rosé, a 100% grenache rosé; and a cabernet sauvignon highlighting cassis, cherry, and violet aromas with a smooth finish.
“Opening our tasting room in downtown Paso Robles marks a significant milestone for our passion project, and we are excited we get to do it in this exciting collaborative space with other great wineries and restaurants,” said Fio DeRodeff, co-founder of Rockbound Cellars. “It’s not just about the wines for us, it’s about connecting with our customers and making them a part of our journey.”
The tasting room is located at 1102 Railroad St., Paso Robles. Hours of operation are Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
