New winery opens in Tin City

–As we enter 2018, Dave McGee, owner and winemaker of Monochrome Wines is pleased to announce the opening of his tasting room in the burgeoning Tin City complex in Paso Robles.

Tin City offers the wine lover an easy to navigate, compact area where they can explore wines from over 20 small, boutique producers, and Dave is pleased to add his name to the growing number of wineries pouring out of their own Tin City tasting room.

Monochrome Wines is a unique producer, in that they produce ONLY White Wines (thereby the name Monochrome—meaning “one color”).

Previously, Monochrome Wines were only available to taste at Garagiste Events during 2017, but now, come on down to Tin City and explore Monochrome’s initial release, highly regarded, as evidenced by Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s recent ratings. The entire lineup of the 2016 vintage received scores of 90 and above!

Analog in a Digital Age: 81% marsanne, 19% chardonnay (92 points).
Barrel Distortion: 100% albarino (91 points).
Blasphemy: 100% chardonnay (90 points).
Variations on a Theme: 68% sauvignon blanc, 32% marsanne (91 points).
Wall of Sound: 52% viognier, 48% roussane (92 points).

Sourcing fruit from quality vineyards throughout California, (from the Santa Cruz Mountains down the Central Coast to Santa Barbara), gives Dave the flexibility to put together enticing blends or 100% varietals, and more are on the way!

“Creative, experimental and different” may well be the mission statement of Monochrome wines. With over 300 wineries in the Paso Robles area, many of them “small, boutique and hand crafted,” Monochrome stands out as unique-come by for a tasting; encounter and meet this tasty line up of white wines as you chat and sip with Dave, discovering a whole new wine experience-you won’t be disappointed.
