No change in new election tally

In a closely watched race for Paso Robles City Council Fred Strong increased his lead by a few votes over Jim Reed.

Steve Martin took a clear victory for one of the two open council seats. Strong and Reed were fighting for the second seat and were only 44 votes apart. The latest vote tally from the county on Nov. 14 puts Strong 50 votes ahead of Reed.

The San Luis Obispo County Clerk Recorder posted updated election results on Nov. 14 after counting additional ballots not counted by machine on election night. The number of votes recorded increased in every race, but the outcomes did not change.

4251 – FRED STRONG, Incumbent
4201 – JIM REED
3,905 NICK GILMAN, Incumbent
614 write-in votes cast. JERRY JONES of Paso Robles ran as a write-in candidate and was not on the ballot.

Voters swept two incumbents out of office and elected four new candidates to the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Governing Board. The winners are Joel Peterson, Joan Summers, David Lambert and Chris Bausch.
