Nonprofit group awards $3,000 to local youth sports organization

Funds benefit athletes competing in the 805 Games
– Central Coast Funds for Children recently hosted Jody Watty of United Cerebral Palsy San Luis Obispo and presented a $3,000 donation to Best Coast Sports Organization.
The contribution supports Best Coast Sports Organization’s work promoting healthy lifestyles through sports and community engagement. Watty accepted the donation on behalf of United Cerebral Palsy San Luis Obispo to support children with developmental disabilities participating in the 805 Games.
“We are thrilled to accept this donation on behalf of United Cerebral Palsy SLO to support our children with developmental disabilities,” Watty said as she received the contribution for the 805 Games.
More than 600 athletes are expected to compete in the 805 Games, which will be held at Cuesta College South County on May 1. The opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Central Coast Funds for Children is a nonprofit organization that has raised funds in San Luis Obispo County for children in need for 31 years. The organization has donated more than $2.2 million to support local youth. As a publicly supported, tax-exempt charitable organization, it distributes funds through a grant process to organizations and agencies serving children within the county.
