North County high school football update
–The Paso Robles Bearcats lost to St. Joseph 46-24 Friday night at War Memorial Stadium. The Bearcats honored their seniors and their families before the game. At halftime, the Knights led 25-6, but St. Joseph outscored the Bearcats 14-0 in the 3rd quarter to seal the victory. The Bearcats fall to 0-3 in conference, and 2-7 overall. They will play Atascadero next Friday night in Atascadero.
Atascadero lost at Arroyo Grande 35-0. The Greyhounds fall to 0-3 in conference, 0-9 overall. The entire season for the Greyhounds can change, however, if they beat the Bearcats next Friday night on their home field.
The Templeton Eagles jumped out to an early 10-0 lead, and led 31-14 at halftime, but the San Luis Obispo Tigers came from behind in the final minutes of the game to beat Templeton, 42-38. Templeton’s Marino D’Alfonso caught three touchdown passes. A fourth TD reception by D’Alfonso was nullified because of a holding penalty. The Eagles next take on Nipomo for the final game of the regular season.
