PRHS STUNT results from Saturday April 6, 2019

Stunt traveled to Santa Barbara High School on Saturday 4/6 for another big set of matches. The first game against Santa Barbara ended with the Bearcats taking the win with a score of 20-7. A near perfectly played game.

The second game was against the powerhouse team from Camarillo High School. The Camarillo team is ranked fairly high in the Southern Section and dominated at the CIF tournament last year, finally losing in the Finals to King High School. Our bearcats remember losing to them in the CIF finals in 2017 so needless to say, our bearcat stunt team was itching to beat the Scorpions from Camarillo! After battling back and forth all game, it was tied going into the 4th quarter 7-7. After the first round in the 4th quarter, the Scorpions pulled ahead 10-9. Our Bearcats battled back in the second round of the 4th and won possession with the score now tied again at 11-11. It really was going to come down to the final routine. The Bearcats selected their level 3 routine. The bearcats then won the game with a final score of 14-12.

Swimming

With the Varsity Girls swimmers’ victory over Nipomo on Thursday afternoon the Lady Bearcats are off to a 4-0 start in the Mountain League. While Nipomo was a standout in the 50 free, 100 Fly, 100 Free, 200 Free Relay; Paso girls took first in the other 9 events. Holly DiSimone had another personal best in the 500 Free. So too did teammate Sarah Clark, earning her first CIF Autocut in the 100 Fly.

The Varsity boys had a very strong showing from several boys, despite a few injuries. Sophomore Nolan Rumph had his fastest 100 Breaststroke of the Season, dropping 2 seconds to a 1:10.43. The newest member of the Varsity Boys Swim Team, John Seden-Hansen, also had a personal best in the 500 Free, leading all Bearcats with a 6:15.57.

Come out and see the Dual in the Pool as Paso Robles (4-0) takes on SLO (4-0) for a chance at Mountain League dominance on Thursday, April 11th at Sinshiemer Pool at 2 p.m.
