Bearcat sports paso robles high school

Sports update from Anthony Morales, Director of Athletics, Paso Robles High School

Yesterday our men’s volleyball team defeated Morro Bay HS. JV won 2-0. Varsity won 3-2.

The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the Morro Bay Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday night. Set scores were 18-25, 21-25, 25-17, 31-29, 15-5.

Jordan Morris lead the offense with 11 kills while Brock Williams had 7 kills and 7 blocks and Wil Reed added 7 kills. Hector Arteaga sparked the team with 3 of his 5 aces in the final set and added 6 kills and 9 blocks in the winning effort.

The Bearcats improve to 7-8 on the season (1-0 in league play) and next play on Thursday at home versus the San Luis Obispo Tigers. Varsity first serve is at 5:30 p.m.

Women’s softball defeated San Luis Obispo HS. JV won 6-5 (we scored in the bottom of the 7th to win the game). Varsity won 11-2. The Bearcats won their 2nd conference game today versus the Arroyo Grande Eagles by a score of 11 to 2. Paso was lead offensively by multiple players. Lya Abel and Emma Phillips had 3 hits each today to lead a 16 hit day for the Bearcats. Jaiden Ralston has another strong performance on the mound with 12 strikeouts. Next game is Friday in Santa Maria versus The St Joseph Knights.

Stunt

Last night was the start of week 5 in our season. It was a great night of game in the Nipomo Titan’s gymnasium.

6 p.m. game: Nipomo High School vs. Atascadero High School, 6-12 (winner Atascadero) This was Atascadero’s first win of the season and the first league game they have played.

7 p.m. game: Atascadero High School vs. Paso Robles High School, 3-19 (winner Paso) This is Paso’s 4th victory of the season and they now lead the league 2-0 in league with an overall record of 5-0.

8 p.m. game: Nipomo High School vs. Paso Robles High School, 0-21 (winner Paso). This is Paso’s first perfect score game of the season where they don’t miss a single point.

Varsity baseball defeated previously undefeated San Luis Obispo last night 9-3 in the home opener of league season.

We took advantage of SLO’s mistakes. Executed our offensive game plan very well. Great energy, great team effort. Going to be a good one Friday.

SLO’s first loss of the season. Game two is Friday at SLO at 6 p.m.

Men’s Tennis had a tough one yesterday in AG. Paso had an away match yesterday against the strongest team in Mountain League. The Eagles won the match 8-1. Paso gave it their all, but came up short against this experienced team.

5. Reese Eddy was Paso’s lone point with a 4-6, 6-4(10-5) win at 5 singles
