Notices sent out about water/sewer insurance not endorsed by city
–Some Paso Robles residents have received letters advising them they can obtain insurance to cover repairs to their sewer and water lines. These letters may give homeowners the mistaken impression that the city is endorsing the offer and/or that homeowners should get insurance to cover the city’s water and wastewater systems. These letters are being sent independently by the insurance company and have no connection whatsoever with the City of Paso Robles.
The city owns, operates and maintains the water and wastewater systems, which include all of the main lines in public rights-of way. City water and wastewater fees pay for the maintenance of these systems. The insurance being offered would cover only those water or wastewater lines that run through private property and connect to the city’s system.
