    Obituary of Ashley Brooke Houston-Gibbs

    Ashley Brooke Houston-Gibbs.

    – Ashley Brooke Houston-Gibbs went to be with the lord on June 4, 2026, at the age of 41, after a courageous 2-year battle against cancer.

Through this battle, Ashley faced each obstacle with positivity and strength. Given 3 months at the time of diagnosis, she was able to travel the world and follow her dreams, showing everyone who knew her the definition of determination and grace. She was able to finish school while in treatment, eventually hoping to be able to become a nurse. She continued to prove doctors wrong and inspired everyone who knew her, knowing that God had great plans for everyone, even though we don’t ever know the outcome. She was a strong believer in the lord and his timing keeping her faith until her last day.

Ashley was a beloved Mother to her two daughters, Melanie and Marlee and a grandma to her grandson Grayson. They were the most important things in her whole life. Her kindness, strength, and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She was born on December 12, 1984, to Renee Gibbs and Larry Houston. She spent her life giving back to her community first working in the medical field and later transitioning into being a paraeducator for Templeton School District up until her Diagnosis.

She will be remembered for her love of family, generosity and the love she had for the gym and Disney. Even through her illness, she showed remarkable strength and courage, inspiring those around her.

Her Grandparents William and Marjorie Gibbs were proud of her.

She is survived by her children Marlee and Melanie, her grandson Grayson, her siblings Dean, Sarah, Margo, Sarah, Arielle, Nick, Mallory, Mathew and Andrew, Her Parents Renee and Larry, her Stepmom Joan and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Stepdad Jack, Grandma Patricia, Grandma Marjorie, Grandpa William and Uncle Dave.

A Funeral will be held on June 16, 2026, at St Williams Church at 12:00 in Atascadero with a graveside to follow at the Atascadero Cemetery. A second Service will be held at the Christian Life Center in Paso. Date and time to follow.

Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

    2 Timothy 4:7

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
