Obituary of Edward ‘Dee’ Bough, 87

Edward “Dee” Bough, 87.
– Edward “Dee” Bough, 87, passed away on October 15, 2025, in Paso Robles, California.
Born on September 10, 1938, in Stockton, Missouri. The family moved to California, where he attended grammar school and graduated from Porterville High School. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Army.
Dee worked for several years for McCarthy Tank & Steel of San Luis Obispo before joining Bechtel at Diablo Canyon as an Ironworker. He took great pride in his trade and often spoke of working high atop the dome. Dee retired from Diablo Canyon after about 20 years and began his own business, Bough Trucking, in Arroyo Grande in the 1980s.
In 1975, Dee married Elsie Furtado, and they started a new home in Arroyo Grande. Together they shared a love of outdoors-hunting, fishing, and traveling. They cherished time at Heritage Ranch, where they enjoyed more fishing and backyard BBQs with friends and family. Dee was a talented craftsman who enjoyed carving wood, working with leather, and braiding ropes and whips.
Dee is remembered by his daughter Arlene Bough Giulietti of Bakersfield; his son Eric Bough of North Carolina; stepsons and daughters Sheryle, Clint, Lori, Rick, and Gregg Machado; as well as several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elsie Furtado Bough; his parents Eldon and Helen Bough; and his twin sisters Peggy and Patsy. Services will be arranged at a future date.
