Obituary of James ‘Jim’ Louis Rohrer, 73

    James “Jim” Louis Rohrer

    James “Jim” Louis Rohrer.

    May 25, 1952 – Nov. 20, 2025

    – James “Jim” Louis Rohrer passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, with his family beside him and his Corgi, Lacy, at his feet.

Born on May 25, 1952, Jim lived in the Paso Robles area from 1974 to 2018, where he raised his family and built a life grounded in hard work. He farmed on the family ranch near Creston, drove trucks throughout the West, and was a reliable resource for many years at Templeton Auto Parts, where he was known for his mechanical knowledge and friendly manner.

Jim loved engines, racing, and the outdoors. He spent years drag racing and was proud to be part of Bill Miller’s Top Fuel Drag Racing Team. He enjoyed water-skiing, off-roading, and showing his cherished 1972 Chevy pickup.

Animals were a constant in his life, from the many cats he cared for over the years to his loyal Corgi, Lacy.

After leaving Paso Robles, Jim retired to Kingman, Arizona, with his partner, Karen Platt, where he appreciated a quieter pace and wide desert skies.

Jim is survived by Karen; his daughters, Bridget Rohrer and Shelly Wagner; and his son-in-law, Ben Wagner. He also shared a lifelong bond with his nephews, Rob and Rick Rohrer, who supported him throughout his illness and stood beside his daughters in his final hours.

Jim will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the love he carried for his family.
