Jesse passed away peacefully in his home in Paso Robles, CA.
Born in Gilroy, California. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He was a true Christian who always showed his Godly heart to others.
Jesse and his brothers were paperboys during the Korean War era at Camp Roberts. He was very proud to be a Bearcat and played all his high school years. As he grew older, he developed a talent for singing.
Late in life he moved to Tennessee and started his own painting company. After several years, he moved to Alabama and continued to paint. He decided to attend his 45th class reunion, and there he again met his high school sweetheart, Joan Foget. In 2006, Jesse moved back to his hometown of Paso Robles and married his high school sweetheart.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dorwin (Dutch) and Angela Rosemary Avery. Two Brothers; Richard Lee (Dick) Avery, and Don Avery, and sister Betty Jane Grant-Avery. Two Nephews; Shawn Avery and Donald Jay Avery Jr.
He is survived by his wife Joan Foget-Avery, His Sister Pearl Cross and her husband Jeff Cross from Lodi, CA. His Sister Darlene Money and her husband Mike Money from Dickson, TN. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Jesse’s charisma was a rare personality trait you didn’t see every day. His warmth projected a sense of trustworthiness. His spoken voice was always filled with passion, and you could always feel the love when he smiled at you. If you only met Jesse one time, you would never be able to forget him.
From a paperboy to a painter, to an angel. Jesse will be singing with his family that has been waiting for him.
Obituary was written by sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Mike Money.
Service will be on April 6th at 2 P.M.
