Obituary of Johnny Tedder, 63

Johnny Garrett Tedder.
– Johnny Garrett Tedder, CW4, Army, 63, of Templeton, California, passed away on Feb. 12, 2026.
CW4 Tedder proudly served in the United States Armed Forces from 1980 until his retirement in 2009. Originally enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps, Johnny then transitioned into the U.S. Army for the remaining majority of his military career. Various operations and conflicts in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq, were among the many locations that CW4 Tedder was stationed during his service to the United States.
Among his many awards and commendations, Johnny earned the Legion of Merit medal, numerous Meritorious Service and Army Commendation medals, along with the South West Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Global War on Terrorism Service medals, Korean Defense Service medal, Humanitarian Service medal, and Iraq Campaign medal. Johnny was honorably discharged with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 / CW4 upon retirement from the U.S. Armed Forces.
Born on December 15th, 1962, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Johnny was the son of Doris Mae Tedder and Clyde John Tedder, both of whom have preceded him in death. After his military service, Johnny worked as a civilian in the DoD sector, from which he later retired. Johnny was known as being a pillar of strength, wisdom, intelligence, and courage to his family and loved ones, as well as being a mentor and a friend to his peers and coworkers that he met throughout his life and military career.

Interment service will be held on May 7th, 3:00 pm EST at Arlington National Cemetery. Plan to arrive an hour early per ANC. Military honors [Band, Bugler, Escort, and Firing Party] will be rendered by Arlington National Cemetery.
