Obituary of Leonard ‘Leo’ Brunk, 77

    Leo Brunk

    Leo Brunk.

    – Leonard “Leo” Brunk, 77, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at Merrimack Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving children after several days of vigil shared with family, friends, and the many people Leo connected with in his life.

Leo was born on November 11, 1948, in San Diego, California, and grew up in Paso Robles, California. After high school, he joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country. He later lived in New York before eventually settling in New Hampshire.

Leo built a respected career as an electrical engineer, most recently working at Optics 1, where he was valued for his knowledge and mentorship.

His family and his friends from the Church of the Good Shepherd were the heart of his life. He found joy in art, music, and playing the didgeridoo. He will be remembered for his fun spirit and deep love for those around him.

Leo is survived by his wife, Eileen, his children, Ryan Brunk (Joanne) and Tara Donnellan (Martin), his stepchildren, Mike Freiburger (Deb) and Laura Epstein (John), his cherished grandchildren and great-granddaughter, his sisters, Barbara and Mary, his brother, Larry, and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

SERVICES: A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leo’s memory to Merrimack Community Hospice House (https://hhhc.org/make-a-gift/donation/).
