Patricia Ann ‘Pat’ Pratte.
– Patricia Ann “Pat” Pratte, age 85, of Charleston, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born on December 5, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Everett Eugene and Bessie Mae (Crouch) Todd. On November 20, 1971, she married the love of her life, John Robert Pratte, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Robert Pratte of Charleston, Illinois; her children, Tod (Diana) Pratte of Bloomington, Illinois, Kim (Jim) Pino of McHenry, Illinois, and Robert (Sarah) Pratte of Round Rock, Texas; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Marion Todd of Paso Robles, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Bessie Todd, and two sisters, Freida Chioda and Mary Virginia Todd.
Patricia was a graduate of Amelia High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She lived in Cincinnati for nearly 30 years before moving to the Chicago suburbs and then to Charleston in 1983. Pat was a former member of First Baptist Church in Charleston. Over the years, she worked as an executive secretary at Century Steel, Culligan, and Eastern Illinois University, where she remained until her retirement.
Pat enjoyed genealogy, caring for her plants, and working crossword puzzles. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Pat will be remembered as a warm, kind, and caring person who touched the lives of many.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Summerlin officiating. Family and friends will meet at the mausoleum at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. for procession and burial at 11:00 a.m.
