Obituary of Pedro ‘Pete’ Ramirez, 82
– Pedro Ramirez, affectionately known as Pete, passed into the arms of Jesus on November 30, 2025, at the age of 82.
He is survived by his six children: Carlos (50, married to Michele), Jennifer (47, married to John), Steven (44, married to Brianne), Edna (41), Marvina (40), and Teddy (36). Pete cherished his 14 grandchildren: Ryan (24), Jayden (24), Andrew (21), Jenelle (21), Jacey (21), Joseph (20), Devra (19), Sophia (19), Jakob (15), Justice (14), Mattie (13), Jennifer (12), Vallen (11), and Caralena (11). He was also blessed with bonus grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Pete was born on October 23, 1943, in Niles, California, and grew up in Union City, California, as the second youngest of 13 siblings. He is survived by three siblings: Betty Hitchcock, Jess Ramirez, and Vera Ortiz. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
After graduating from James Logan High School, Pete proudly served in the United States Air Force for six years. Following his military service, he married Consuelo Inocencio, and they welcomed their son, Carlos. After that marriage ended, Pete and Carlos moved to San Bernardino, California, where he worked as a custodian and bus driver for local schools.
Later, Pete met and married Gwen Olim, who brought Steven and Jennifer into the family. Seeking a slower pace of life, Pete relocated to Paso Robles, California, where Gwen and the children soon joined him. There, he spent most of his adult years raising his six children. He worked for many years at Paso Robles High School as Head Custodian and served as Union President, forming lifelong friendships that endured until his passing.
Upon retiring from the school district, Pete worked part-time at Walmart. In 2019, he moved to Fresno, California, to be closer to the Veterans’ hospital and his eldest son, Carlos, and family.
Pete will be fondly remembered for his deep love of music, softball, sports, family gatherings, the Raiders, his model car collection, cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events and performances, admiring Joseph’s art, and his genuine enthusiasm for life.
