Obituary of Rick Whyte
– It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rick. On July 22nd, 2024, Rick Whyte courageously lost his long battle with cancer and earned his angel wings.
Born on March 1st, 1961 Rick was raised in Huntington Beach California and graduated high school in Weymouth Massachusetts. Rick attended many art institutions in Boston, Sarasota, and Minneapolis. Rick was a successful nightclub producer, a master designer, an accomplished artist, and a renowned florist. Rick was the creative mastermind and owner of Pismo Beach Florist and Oar House Studio.
He lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, joy, and love. Rick was passionate about using his creative talents to add beauty to the world for all to enjoy. Rick is survived by his beloved sister Nancy Kerans, his mother Sharyn Davidson, his niece Toni Kerans, His nephew Robert Kerans with wife Shelby Kerans and their three children Karsyn, Kennedy, and Benjamin, and his large extended family.
Rick’s absence will be profoundly felt by his family, friends, and The California Central Coast community. Rick’s Family and friends will be celebrating his life on Aug. 18, 2024. The day will be started at 11:00 at the Los Osos Valley Memorial Park 2260 Los Osos Valley Road Los Osos CA 93402. We will conclude our services on the Chablis cruise in Morro Bay, California. RSVP by August 15th if you are joining us by contacting Nancy or Toni. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you Donate to Americans for the Arts.
