Officer Michael Rickerd visited Nathan Flores for his 4th birthday

–On Wednesday, June 29, Paso Robles Police Officer Michael Rickerd arrived at St. Rose Catholic School unannounced. His visit wasn’t the typical safety, or work related, visit officers usually make. Instead, Rickerd surprised four-year old Nathan Flores by attending his noon-time birthday party.

Flores’ mom had contacted the PRPD several weeks prior via the department’s Nextdoor website and had explained that Nathan loves police officers and that his birthday was just around the corner. Based upon this information, Officer Rickerd made time between community calls for service to attend Flores’ birthday bash at St. Rose.

“Our family would just like to say ‘thank you’ to Officer Rickerd of Paso PD. He made our son’s birthday extra special by his presence,” said Flores’ mom. “Our son adores police officers and would like to be one when he grows up. Our family believes that teaching respect to our hardworking police officers starts at home.”
