‘Old Timers BBQ’ happening Sunday in San Miguel

–The San Miguel Lions Club will be hosting their 66th Annual “Old Timers BBQ” in San Miguel, this Sunday August 25th at the San Miguel Park from noon to 2 p.m.

Its open to the public and lunch will be bbq chicken for $15. Those that are 80 and over eat for free. You do not have to be a resident of San Miguel to get your free meal; in fact seniors from all over the state have come to get a free meal and reconnect with their family. They have had visitors from as far away as Palm Springs and Oregon.

They usually serve between 250 and 300 guests with over 100 being 80 and over, and they recognize the oldest man and woman in attendance, who throughout the history of this event have always been into their hundreds. The public can also meet the Pioneer Day Royalty. The San Miguel Lions Club was founded in 1949 and currently has 15 members.
