Olive oil celebrated at Downtown City Park

–Hundreds of people turned out Saturday for the 14th Annual Olive Festival at the Downtown City Park in Paso Robles.

Olive oil producers came from many areas, but mostly from the North County. Shantel Zorrilla shared her family’s Hidalgo Olive Oil which is produced in Spain. Clotilde Julien provided tastings of Olea Farms olive oil, which is produced on Templeton Road. Clotilde and her husband moved from France to the North County to start producing Olive Oil over twenty years ago.

Besides olive oil, there were also olives, wine and other related products at the Olive Festival. The festival was moved from August to May a few years ago, but the weather continues to be hot for the Olive Festival. Cotilde Julien says she doesn’t mind the hot weather, but it’s hard on the olive oil.
