One inmate dead after 160-person riot breaks out at California Men’s Colony 

–A riot broke out at the California Men’s Colony, sending several people to the hospital Sunday morning, and reports say that one person has died.

More than 160 inmates were involved in the riot, which broke out just before 11 a.m., according to reports. The prison issued a code 1 protocol, which was quickly bumped up to a code 3, and put the prison on lockdown and will be for a few days, reports say.

Sierra Vista Hospital declared it a “Mass Casualty Incident.” No prison staff were hurt during the riot, and no deadly force was used.
