Onx Wines’ Noble Intrigue earns top Wine Enthusiast honor
Wine Enthusiast releases a list of its top 100 wines yearly
– Onx Wines announced that its 2021 Noble Intrigue has earned the #45 position on Wine Enthusiast magazine’s Cellar Select list, a top honor that highlights the winery’s dedication to producing distinctive wines with a global appeal.
Each year, Wine Enthusiast releases a list of its Top 100 Wines, which ranks standout selections based on pedigree, structure, and staying power. The annual list showcases wines from around the world, including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Barolo, and top wine-producing regions in California and the Pacific Northwest. Noble Intrigue, crafted from carefully selected syrah blocks at Bien Nacido Vineyard, has now joined the ranks at #45 on this list. The wine often draws comparisons to the winery’s other notable syrah, Fiery Nights.
“A huge thanks to Matt Kettmann and Wine Enthusiast for recognizing our 2021 Noble Intrigue as #45 in the list of the top 100 Cellar Selection wines of 2024,” said winemaker Drew Nenow. “We also want to thank the great people at Bien Nacido Vineyards for their continued partnership and meticulous farming of the syrah from which Noble Intrigue is made.”
Noble Intrigue introduces an earthy profile with hints of mushroom and peat moss, layered with sarsaparilla, savory steak, and iron. Prickly strawberry adds to the sweet undertones, along with vanilla and brown butter, balanced by a peppery hint of sweet peppercorn. The wine features a soft entry with consistent silky texture and finishes with notes of wet tobacco leaf, smashed raspberry, and a dense, anise-infused ending.
