ONX Wines score big with Wine Enthusiast
Four out of five 2012 reds garner 90+ points from ‘Wine Enthusiast’
ONX Wines of Templeton started the new year on a high note thanks to four great scores from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The boutique winery’s 2012 Mad Crush and 2012 Crux both scored 92 points, while ONX’s 2012 Reckoning received an impressive 93 points. The accolades are to be featured in the February, 2015 issue of the distinguished publication, out next month. In addition, ONX’s 2012 Praetorian, bestowed with 91 points, will be featured in the March, 2015 issue.
ONX Winemaker Brian Brown and entrepreneur Steve Olson aim to bend winemaking convention one vintage at a time. A discerning winemaker, Brown is particularly proud of the success surrounding the 2012 Reckoning, which was chosen as Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Editor’s Choice. “Our 2012 Reckoning achieves the stylistic goals we strive for like no other vintage has before,” said Brown. “It packs the same hedonistic punch as previous vintages, but it does so with a grace and finesse that almost seems at odds with its inherent brawny nature.”
Unhindered by convention, ONX continually strives to express the personality of its dynamic Westside Templeton vineyard as well as the vintage from which each wine is born.
With a nod to the area’s deep-seated agricultural legacy and an eye for cutting-edge innovation, Olson and Brown come together to craft high-quality wines that bend perception and push the envelope. Exceptionally balanced and complex, their tribe of fiercely-independent cuvées burst with character and verve.
