Paso Robles brothers place second and third in their age groups at Maui 5K

Paso Robles brothers Dominic and Joey Petrillo recently finished second and third in their respective age groups while competing in the recent Maui 5K event.

Dominic finished second in the 17-19-year-old ranks and his little brother Joey finished in third place for his 10-11-year-old class. Dominic finished second in a group of 27 age-grouped runners while little brother Joey finished third out of 32 runners.

Dominic improved his time by three minutes from his last Maui 5K in 2013 where he had placed third. It was the first time his brother Joey has run in this annual event.

Proceeds from entry fees of the race go to the Maui 5 Children’s Education Fund.

Dominic is a Junior at Paso Robles High School and Joey is a fourth grader at Virginia Peterson School.
