Paso Pops announces new features, shares last-minute reminders

–Paso Pops, the annual Paderewski Festival-sponsored concert and Independence Day celebration in Paso Robles combining wine, beer, food, family-friendly activities, live music and fireworks will take place on Saturday, July 1 at the Paso Robles Horse Park. The 2017 patriotic “Pops” program to be performed by The San Luis Obispo Symphony, Youth Symphony and The Swing Dolls can be viewed at www.pasopops.org. Net proceeds from Paso Pops benefit local non-profit youth arts programs.

With the event just days away, concert goers should make note of some of the following important reminders and fun new Paso Pops extras.

1. The deadline for ticket purchases is June 30 – unless the event sells out earlier. No day-of tickets will be sold. Purchase tickets or from the Paderewski Festival or Paso Pops websites.

2.Picnics are allowed. Alternatively, patrons can order meals purchased online from Allegretto – deadline Wednesday, June 28 – or sample from selection of county’s best food trucks and caterers. Coolers are allowed, including sealed water bottles and sodas. No outside alcoholic beverages.

3.A new Paso Pops Raffle will offer winners choice of three prizes. Grand prize is New Year’s Eve LA experience to remember for the football fan. Escorted by former LA Rams player Dennis Harrah, attend Los Angeles Rams/San Francisco 49ers game on New Year’s Eve with sideline and clubhouse passes, transportation by Tesla and picnic and wine from Cass Winery. Second prize offers winner the opportunity to explore, indulge and unwind in Paso Robles with the help of SummerWood Winery & Inn, Mistura Restaurant and Cass Winery. Third prize encourages the winner to enjoy a day of relaxation and rejuvenation thanks to River Oaks Spa, Hotel Cheval and The Steakhouse at the Paso Robles Inn. Additional prize details at www.pasopops.org. Tickets are $50 each or three for $100 and will contribute to the event’s net proceeds that benefit local non-profit youth arts programs.

4.For patrons sitting at President, Vice President and Speaker tables, prizes will be awarded for “most patriotic table” in dress and table decorations.

5.A limited number of RV spaces at the Paso Robles Horse Park are still available. Two nights are required (June30-July1) and Paso Pops tickets must be purchased prior to RV reservation. 6.Volunteers are still needed for this event and will receive a Paso Pops t-shirt, two volunteer Diplomat seats and access to the volunteer canteen area. To register for a shift, volunteers should visit www.pasopops.org and check the volunteer link.

7.Paso Pops merchandise will be available for sale at the event including hats, visors, blankets, bandanas and ice bags for wine.

The main sponsors of Paso Pops 2017 are Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Travel Paso Robles Alliance, Allegretto Resort and Cass Winery.

Gates open at 4 p.m. A walk-around wine tasting featuring 40 local wineries will be open from 5-7:30 to adults purchasing reserved seating, while The San Luis Obispo Symphony Musical Petting Zoo and interactive arts activities organized by Studios on the Park and Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation will be provided for young families. Firestone Walker beer and a variety of wines from Paso Robles wine country will be available for purchase.

Tickets range from $20 for General Patriot Mall admission up to $3,500 for sponsored President tables that include wine tasting, gourmet buffet, wine and beer and VIP parking. Additional premium seating options include Vice President tables ($1,000) or individual reserved seats starting at $50. All reserved seats have access to walk-around wine tasting. Parking on Airport Road within easy walking distance and shuttles is provided for Premium Patriot Mall $30 and General Patriot Mall $20 admission. For active and retired military with ID, students with ID, and seniors over 60, General Patriot Mall tickets are $15. Up to two children 12 and under are free with paid General Patriot Mall admission.

The Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles is a 501c3 non-profit that sponsors an annual series of concerts featuring internationally acclaimed artists, the Paderewski Festival Youth Piano Competition and Youth Exchange Program, and other Paderewski-themed events. The 2017 Festival will be held November 2-5 at various venues in Paso Robles.
