Performer Quinn Newman makes professional debut
– Paso Robles 9-year-old Quinn Newman has been cast as Young Anna in PCPA’s upcoming production of Disney’s Frozen – The Broadway Musical. The show runs Nov. 6 through Dec. 21 at the Marian Theatre in Santa Maria.
This marks Newman’s first production with PCPA. Her previous experience includes regional theatrical productions, commercial work for national brands, and multiple awards recognizing her performances in dance and musical theater.
“Quinn is a ray of sunshine as Young Anna in PCPA’s Frozen,” said Jake Cannon, music director. “We can’t wait to see her take the stage.”
Newman, the youngest member of the cast, has been described as having maturity and stage presence beyond her years.
“We’ve been delighted to connect with Quinn Newman, and it’s been a joy to have her bring her special spark to the role of Young Anna,” said Mark Booher, director of Frozen and dean of PCPA. “Quinn is not only gifted with a nice voice and strong movement skills—she’s blessed with the ability to focus her energy and fit into the busy briskness of a professional rehearsal environment.”
Newman trains on California’s Central Coast, where she studies voice, dance, and acting. The role of Young Anna is double-cast, and audiences are encouraged to check with the box office for specific dates to see Newman perform.
PCPA – Pacific Conservatory Theatre, founded in 1964 and based in Santa Maria, produces live theater and operates a training conservatory for actors and stage technicians.
