Paso Robles adds new fire engine at Station 1
Firefighters observe tradition with push-in ceremony at station
– Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services placed a new fire engine into service Tuesday at Fire Station 1.
The new Pierce engine replaces Engine 8191, which entered service in 2013 and responded to 2,076 incidents in the past year. The department stated the addition of the new engine is intended to improve reliability and emergency response capabilities for Paso Robles residents.
To mark the occasion, department personnel held a traditional push-in ceremony, a fire service ritual that dates back to the horse-drawn era.
Funding for the engine came from Measure J-20, a supplemental sales tax approved by Paso Robles voters in 2020. The department acknowledged the community’s support in making the purchase possible.
