Paso Robles Art Association to host portrait drawing course
Course is designed for beginners and intermediate students
– The Paso Robles Art Association will host a four-part portrait drawing course, Drawing the Human Head and Face, led by artist and instructor WB Eckert. The course is designed for beginners and intermediate students, but all experience levels are welcome.
Classes will run on four consecutive Saturdays from Sept. 20 through Oct. 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Paso Robles Art Association Gallery inside Studios on the Park, 1130 Pine St., Paso Robles. The fee is $130 per student, and class size is limited to 10. Registration is available at wbeckertstudio.com/classes-workshops.
The curriculum begins with basic shapes, contours, and movement, then covers proportions, rotation, and perspective. Later sessions focus on facial features including eyes, nose, mouth and ears. The final class includes drawing from photographs and problem-solving. Required supplies are an 11-by-14-inch drawing pad, a stiff board of at least 11 by 14 inches, one or two soft pencils (4B or 6B), a sharpener, and a kneaded eraser.
